DC State Fair Countdown: #3 - Attack Of The Tastiest Tomatoes

Coming in at Number Three on reasons to participate and come out to the DC State Fair is the Tastiest Tomato contest.

Tomatoes are behind some of the very best things in the history of the universe. Think of all the pasta sauces, soups, salads, and films starring Jessica Tandy and Kathy Bates we wouldn't have the chance to enjoy without them.

DC State Fair Countdown: #4 - We're Jamming

I think we all enjoy getting into the occasional "sticky" situation. However, we really love to "preserve" our reputation. Jelly. Jam. I can't think of anything else.

That brings us to #4 reason to be involved in the DC State Fair: the Home-Made Jam Contest.

Sponsored by your friends (and mine) of the DC Rollergirls, the jam contest will showcase some of the fruitiest spreads this side of the Capital Beltway.

DC State Fair Countdown: #5 - The Funky Vegetable

State fairs are awesome for showcasing the more unusual side of agriculture. You don't get any more unusual or interesting than a funky vegetable.

Just like clouds in the sky, we can see the most unusual things in a vegetable. The DC State Fair will give you the opportunity to showcase that most unusual thing. Don't forget you can win a prize just for bringing it over to the Fair!

My personal hope is that you have a giant squash that looks like Rush Limbaugh! If you can bring that down, come find me for an extra treat.

FMAD - August 20th

Enjoy the August 20th show where PBriddy and Mr. Briddy and I run down a multitude of things including "The Expendables", Michael Cera, and fake fast food.

FMAD: 08/13/10

It's only fitting that there were ghosts in the machine on our Friday the 13th edition of Fat Man After Dark. We fight through technical difficulties and come out smelling like a bunch of roses on the other side. Briddy works her magic while Mr. Briddy does what he does best: very little. The icing on the cake is a return to the origins of FMAD: pro wrestling. We talk wrestling deaths in the wake of the Lance Cade tragedy then SW Dave, myself, and our new friend Don Mega make predictions for WWE's SummerSlam pay-per-view.

FMAD: 08/06/10

Briddy, Mr. Briddy, SW Dave, and our NFL correspondent Kris Burke shoot the breeze and wax philosophical from the August 6th show.

To listen in you can go right here to SoundCloud OR you can listen below.
